Welcome from Pastor Greg Savage and Family
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about First Southern Baptist Church. I hope as you check out our Web site, and visit our Sunday services, that you will sense our desire to help you make the important connections of life. We incorporate solid Biblical teaching and preaching, with in-depth small group ministries, dynamic Praise and Worship and vibrant fellowships to help you make life-long and eternal connections. At First Southern Baptist Church, there is something for everyone. Come to FSBC and explore the written Word and experience the power, love, and forgiveness of the living Word, Jesus Christ.
After pastoring a church in Bonner Springs, Kansas and attending Midwestern Theological Seminary, I had the great privilege and honor of becoming pastor at First Southern Baptist Church in October of 2003. During my entire ministry, my wife, Heidi, and three children have been indispensable parts of my ministry. Together we are exploring the great depths of the love and riches we have in Christ.
I have entered the wonderful world of blogs. I would encourage you to go and check out some of my writings. I am hopeful that I will be able to have a very strong writing ministry. My blog can be found at: http://gregsavage.blogspot.com/ I hope you enjoy. Let me hear from you when you get there.
If you are visiting Dodge City, a new resident, or a lifelong resident, please accept this as your open invitation to come and visit us at First Southern Baptist Church. As we stay focused on the advancement of God's Kingdom, we truly expect to see a great outpouring of His Spirit and see many lives changed and transformed into the image of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). Come and be a part of this exciting time.

Thanks for taking the tim6e to read this little bio about me and my family. Most youth wouldn't take the time, so I am guessing that you are different, or you're not a youth. Anyway, my wife, Kristie and I have 3 children, Caleb 7, Sierra 3 and Camri 1. Kristie and I moved to Dodge City in October of 2006 when God led us to be the youth pastor here at First Southern Baptist. We moved here from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Liberal, Kansas where we had been worshipping, growing and leading youth since August of 2002.
Here at First Southern Baptist in Dodge City, our youth ministry is centered on teaching the young people of today how to "live". Being a Christian youth is not about surviving junior high or high school, it is about really enjoying life as God intended us too. When we allow God to work in our lives and then work through our lives, we realize that there is much more to life than we thought. God's Word teaches us what He desires of us, shows us how we can live life, and then provides us the strength and wisdom to finish strong. Solid Biblical teaching coupled with a growing desire to love God more produces young people that will really "live" and not just survive.
Understanding that youth start as children and then grow up to be college students, we also focus on preparing our children to live in a daily relationship with Jesus Christ their Lord. We begin teaching them the foundations of the Christian faith according to God's Word so that when they are youth, we can grow them into living masterpieces. These living masterpieces continue to grow and eventually graduate. After high school, our college and young adult ministry takes over deepening their personal relationship with Jesus. As college students and young adults, the focus is using God's Word, preparing them to enter society as wise and accountable pillars of faith. As God deepens their faith, young adults learn to live with character and impact society for the Kingdom of God.
If you are new to Dodge City, if you are looking for a place to worship Jesus, or if you are just visiting for a short time, we invite you to come and worship with us. We have student ministries from the pre-school age all the way through the college and young adults. Come worship with us.
