Thank you for taking the time to find out more about First Southern Baptist Church.  I hope as you check out our Web site, and visit our Sunday services, that you will sense our desire to help you make the important connections of life.  After pastoring a church in Bonner Springs, Kansas and attending Midwestern Theological Seminary, I had the great privilege and honor of becoming pastor at First Southern Baptist Church in October of 2003.  During my entire ministry, my wife, Heidi, and three children have been indispensable parts of my ministry.  Together we are exploring the great depths of the love and riches we have in Christ.

Thanks for taking the time to read this short bio about me and my family.  Most youth wouldn't take the time, so I am guessing that you are different, or you're not a youth.  Anyway, my wife, Kristie and I have 3 children, Caleb 10, Sierra 6 and Camri 3.  We have been ministering here with the First Southern Family since October 2006. 

I grew up in western Oklahoma, so an Okie I will always be.  I enjoy, NASCAR, fishing, hunting and just about any outdoor sport.  My favorite teams are Oklahoma State Cowboys, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Hendrick Motorsports; yes, I am a Jimmie Johnson fan.  I enjoy hunting for rocks and fossils, playing with my children and spending time with Kristie.  I also like western décor as my home and office testify.

Kristie and I met on a mission trip to Montana in 1995 and were married a year later on May 24, 1996.  We have a passion for leading students to a place where they are ministering to their peers and we are the support system.  As they begin to “live”, they become Contagious and infect everyone they meet.  Everyone is infecting someone with something, we want that something to be the someone of Jesus.
